IMPORT WITH ASSTRA COMPANY

In December 2023, AsstrA's client, a supplier of LED lamps, faced a problem when importing a trial batch of goods from China to the CIS countries. The recipient, who was supposed to act as an importer, refused to make customs clearance for himself, referring to the agreement that the samples would be delivered free of charge. The Chinese sender, on the other hand, could not pay customs duties on his own, since he does not have the authority to process cargo in the CIS.

"Due to the lack of agreements between the sender and the recipient, timely delivery is at risk. The client's supervisor on the part of AsstrA connected the experts of the trade department to the solution. The task arose not only to arrange the cargo for the contract, but also to solve financial and organizational issues related to customs clearance as quickly as possible," Angelina Chesnokova, senior specialist in foreign trade, shares the details.

During the implementation of the project, the team of the Trade department:

• Adjusted air waybills with a change of recipient;
• We have prepared new documents (invoice, packing list, specification, letters for the customs authority of the air CEDA);
• Issued Declarations of Conformity according to the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union for the goods in the certification body;
• Customs payments have been paid;
• Signed an Agency Agreement with the sender;
• Signed the Act of acceptance and transfer of free cargo with the recipient;
• We have prepared a customs procedure for release for domestic consumption.

"Thanks to the competent preparation of documents, careful monitoring of all stages and a proactive approach to solving problems, the import customs clearance of the delivery was completed in 1 day and the cargo was released by customs in less than half an hour," Angelina Chesnokova sums up.
