UTLC ERA AT TRANSLOGISTICA KAZAKHSTAN 2022

UTLCUTLC ERA JSC - the first successful integration project on the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union in the field of development of container transit between China and Europe. For six years now, the company has been ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the main Trans-Eurasian railway corridor through Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus.

The main mission of the company: to develop the transit potential of the EAEU through the introduction of high-tech logistics services that require a coordinated policy of railways and regulators on the 1520 mm gauge.

The volume of container traffic on the China - Europe - China route on the transit services of UTLC ERA in 2021 was 692.5 thousand TEU, which is 27% higher than in 2020, when 546.9 thousand TEU were transported. At the same time in the direction of Europe 439.5 thousand TEU (+26%) were transported, and in the direction of China - 253.0 thousand TEU (+27%). A total of 6,770 container trains passed through UTLC ERA services in 2021.

One of the key advantages of UTLC ERA is environmental friendliness. In carrying out its activities, the company does not cause direct damage to the environment. Moreover, UTLC ERA works in accordance with the environmental laws of the countries where it operates. The company's main environmental principle is reasonable precaution. This means taking environmental risks into account in the business strategy and abandoning any potentially environmentally hazardous projects.

In 2019, the company developed its own online CO2 emissions meter applicable to freight traffic along the longest stretch of the New Silk Road, from the European to the Chinese border. Companies using UTLC ERA services in 2021 contributed to decarbonizing the economy by at least 174,600 tons of CO2.

Since 2020, UTLC ERA has been actively involved in the development and promotion of environmental initiatives. In particular, the launch of Keen Option Green, a new environmental program, was announced. One of the directions - establishing guardianship over endangered animal species in natural areas adjacent to the routes of the UTLC ERA container trains. As part of the initiative, the company supported a WWF Russia project to restore the population of bactrian deer and a group of bisons listed in the Red Book.
