Kazakh National Center for road quality to open
In 2019, a National Center for roads quality will be established in Kazakhstan, according to the Minister for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan Zhenis Kasymbek as saying at the Government hour in Parliament.
As the minister noted, the Center will conduct examination of the quality of works and materials on national and local roads and streets.
The creation of the Center, he said, will allow the Government to form the basis for an entirely new mechanism for public roads quality management and improve the road quality index.
As part of the transport digitisation, Kasymbek added, a project is being implemented on launching the road asset management system.
The system is a database of roads, the condition of which is collected by mobile road laboratories (geometric parameters, actual condition), and it determines the priority of repair works and the need for financing, the Minister specified.
