Kazakh, Russian railways agree to give east-west transportation a boost
Respected heads of Kazakh and Russian railway grids Kanat Alpysbaev and Oleg Belozerov signed an Agreement on strategic cooperation between the two companies at the VI International Railway Equipment and Technology Salon "EXPO-1520" in Shcherbinka.
The document is aimed at the joint development of trans-Eurasian corridors, the creation of alliances and joint ventures, the promotion of new transport and logistics services, development of single tariffs for the transport of goods and interstate rail passenger transportation.
In order to implement the Agreement, it is planned to create a joint working group with the participation of authorised representatives of JSC NC KTZ and JSC RZD, who are to develop a plan of measures to implement the main areas of strategic cooperation between the two companies.
During their working meeting, the heads of railway administrations of Kazakhstan and Russia K.Alpysbaev and O.Belozyorov noted the dynamic development of cooperation between JSC NC KTZ and JSC RZD on increasing the volumes, quality and efficiency of freight and passenger transportation in cross-border traffic.
Recall that in 2016, the volume of traffic UTLC more than doubled the level of 2015 and amounted to 101 thousand containers (TEU). According to the business results in the first 7 months of this year, the volume of transportations reached almost 87 thousand containers, which allows us to expect further growth in the planned targets.
Within the framework of the working trip, the head of JSC NC KTZ held meetings with the chairman of the supervisory board of JSC "Coalco Development" V. Anisimov and the general director of CJSC "Transmashholding" K. Lipa.
