Kazakhstani logistics companies to use hubs of Uzbekistan

Minister of Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodzhaev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan Yerik Utembayev.

Head of the diplomatic mission of Kazakhstan discussed with the Minister of Foreign Trade the preparation for the upcoming Uzbek-Kazakh forum, which is scheduled for the second half of 2018 and will be held in Kazakhstan. In order to ensure effective preparation for the forum, Zh.Khodzhaev and E.Utembayev agreed to hold regular meetings and consultations.

The sides exchanged proposals on the promising areas for the development of bilateral cooperation, including at the interregional level.

Head of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and the ambassador of Kazakhstan agreed to involve Kazakhstani logistics companies in the use of Uzbekistan's hubs, which will help Kazakhstan's foreign trade to enter the promising markets of countries in the southern and eastern directions, as well as increase the volume of transit traffic through the territory of Uzbekistan. The Minister of Foreign Trade offered to organize a visit of Kazakh entrepreneurs to the Termez Cargo Center logistics terminal in the near future to get acquainted with its capabilities and further loading of Kazakh goods.

Also, the Kazakh side was invited to consider the possibility of creating joint textile enterprises, including in the framework of interregional cooperation. As the ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted, the economies of the two countries are mutually complementary, and cooperation in various sectors and spheres will only spur the development of neighboring republics.

The parties discussed the conditions for lending funds for the purchase of buses from Uzbekistan. As representatives of the embassy noted, passenger transport of Uzbek production is in great demand in the market of Kazakhstan, including among the municipal authorities of the regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
